Dr. Turnbull joined the AMCL team at the Ashburn Farm location in September 2007. A native of Virginia, she grew up in Roanoke. She graduated from Patrick Henry High School and Roanoke College, where she earned her Bachelor's Degree in Biology. Eager for a change in scenery, Dr. Turnbull decided to move to St. Kitts Island in the Caribbean to attend the Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine. The blue skies, palm trees, white sand, and blue waters certainly helped her to get through the rigors and demands of veterinary school. She completed her in-state requirements at the University of Georgia, College of Veterinary Medicine, during her fourth year of vet school. In 2006, she obtained her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine. She is currently a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association and is USDA Accredited.

Dr. Turnbull's love of animals and innate problem solving skills drew her naturally into her career. In addition to enjoying the company of animals, she is a real people person. These traits enable her to understand why and how people are drawn to the company of pets and how strong the animal-human bond can be. She enjoys taking the time to listen to her clients needs and making sure that they are fully educated when it comes to the care of their pet.

In her spare time, Dr. Turnbull enjoys spending time with her three dogs, Cody, Sunshine, and Ande, and her cat, Tiger. She also takes pleasure in all the joys of being a first time mom. She doesn't know how she ever lived without her baby girl! Dr. Turnbull loves to gather up the whole family and go on a hike or a nice long walk. When the weather doesn't permit a walk, she also knows how to entertain herself indoors. As an accomplished musician, she plays the piano and cello and loves to sing. At work, her special interests include client education, preventative care, neurology and soft tissue surgery.

Dr. Turnbull is a welcome addition to our team! As a recent graduate, she offers our team of seasoned vets a fresh, modern perspective. She is direct, honest, and reliable. Our clients appreciate her thoroughness and patience. We feel confident assuring our clients that their pets are in the best of care when they are treated by Dr. Turnbull!
